Church That Feels Like Home

Our Family Service is intentionally designed for families with children that want to relax, connect, and grow spiritually. Everyone likes to say “come as you are” and “all are welcome”, but we mean it. Flip flops and shorts, t-shirts and tennis shoes – that’s how most of our members dress for this service. But, we’re proudest to say we have a few kiddos who love to come in their pajamas. They look forward to this service every week and their parents cherish it as well. We’ve thrown out the traditional church model and created a space where wiggles are welcome, and you don’t have to choose between tending to your children and hearing the word of God.

Here’s How It WorkS

We hold Family Service in the Fellowship Hall, an area we normally use for eating and hanging out together. The choice to use this space is intentional, because we want you to sit at these tables, drink and eat while you’re here. We have coffee for adults, juice and water for kids –  and pastries for all. You should pick up these refreshments before, during, and after the service as the spirit (and your stomach), so moves you. Twenty minutes into the service, we release the kids for children’s church. At that time, your kids can either stay with you, OR, go to do crafts, play games and fellowship with other kids all while being looked after and instructed by 3-5 former school teachers, all with with 25+ years experience. During the service, the Pastors don’t want to talk at you, they want to talk with you. They will ask questions throughout, we encourage you to answer and engage, but, we don’t put anyone on the spot – you can just listen if you so choose. At the end of service we have communion, sing a song together and by 11:45 AM, service is dismissed.

After the Sermon

Just because service ends, doesn’t mean you have to leave. Many members stay for up to an hour after the message to eat, talk and drink coffee. For the kids, we always have an additional craft after the service. Lori Bell helps them create another keepsake that they will be able to take home and enjoy. Our unconventional service structure ensures both parents and kids can engage in faith in a comfortable environment. We built this service for those who don’t feel engaged by the traditional church model and created a space where wiggles are welcome, and you don’t have to choose between coffee, pastries, kids activities, and community – you can have it all.

This is a church that feels like home. We believe that children don’t have to sit silently in pews to belong to God’s family.

We can’t wait to see you and your family! Just show up, grab a coffee, and find a place at our table.
