Palm Sunday Worship & Fair

Hard to believe it, but Lent has been whizzing by, and a week from this Sunday (April 13) will be Palm Sunday. And we have lots of celebrations planned to mark this special day which begins Holy Week.

First, at the beginning of the 9:00 AM traditional service we will gather in the narthex (lobby) to receive palm branches, hear scripture read and then process in singing our praise to Jesus.

At the end of the service we will have a dramatic reading of our Lord’s Passion as recorded in the gospel according to Luke. Look for several of our members lending their voices to these parts which will set the tone for the most holy week in the church’s calendar.

Following the service we will have our Palm Sunday Fair, which is always a hit for children of all ages. Highlights will include Holy Week stone painting, making cards for our shut-ins (which they absolutely LOVE), other Holy Week crafts and an ice cream sundae bar.

The Family Worship service at 10:45 will continue the celebrations with the palms, and those who attend this service are encouraged to come early to the fair and bring in their sundaes to Fellowship Hall, if they wish.

This is a festive way to begin Holy Week, which mirrors the crowds celebrating Jesus’ arrival into Jerusalem.
