Every year our church joins other ELCA churches in innovative ways to serve our communities. The ELCA calls it God’s Work, Our Hands Sunday, but here at LCC, we all know it as Cookies for the First Responders Day!
So once again we are inviting our members and friends, including our Day School staff, teachers and families, to say thanks to our brave and selfless first responders by providing cookies for them on Sunday, September 8. If you like to bake, that’s great, but if baking isn’t your thing, you can also purchase cookies to donate.
We ask that the cookies be delivered to the church Fellowship Hall on the 8th before 10 AM. If you want to deliver cookies before the 8th, that’s fine – they can go in the Youth Room in that case.
On September 8, we will package up and deliver the cookies to our area first responders. We will gather at 10 AM in the Fellowship Hall to divy up the cookies and package them. After that, volunteers will then be assigned to drive to the fire stations and deliver the cookies. This is a great opportunity for families to have fun together while doing something to bring a smile to the faces of folks who certainly deserve it.
