Isn’t that just like our Lord, that at the times when we need help the most, God always provides. Case in point: We’re all still recovering from last fall’s double-whammy hurricanes. Even as houses and our church are sloooowly making their way back to being restored, our spirits have still been sagging a bit. The emotional impact of the storms hit all of us hard, whether our homes were damaged or not. When one member of the body of Christ suffers, we all suffer.
Enter the Mount Olivet Cathedral Choir and their extremely generous offer to come and lend their musical talents and youthful enthusiasm to our traditional worship service this Sunday. This 160-voice choir asked us for nothing more than the chance to share God’s blessings with us. They provided their own transportation and accommodations and asked for no fees. Yes, the blessings are all ours as we anticipate our spirits soaring with these young people’s voices. Also a blessing, especially for our pastors, is that noted author and preacher, Rev. Dr. David Lose will fill the pulpit, proclaiming God’s promise to always be with us, no matter what.
While here, the Choir and their chaperones spent Friday at the beach and Saturday will enjoy Busch Gardens. They will also visit the Dali Museum and John’s Pass.
If you plan on joining us for worship, please plan on arriving a little earlier than you might usually as seating will be at a premium. A light reception for these talented youth will follow the service.
