The success of our Simply Social events has gotten us thinking…perhaps there might be smaller, special-interest groups that people might like to form among church members. So with the help of Council President Denice Higman and Council Secretary Laurel Ackerman, LCC is surveying our congregation to see what they might like to get together to do.
A Temple Talk was offered last week and sign-up sheets were passed around. There were many options to choose from, including groups for those interested in arts/museums, book clubs, walking club, golf club, mentor/entrepreneurial club, to name just a few. There was also the option to list your own interest group. Slots were offered for various meeting frequencies, dates and times.
Some of the forms have already been turned in, but for those who needed a little more time to consider, they can also be put in the collection plate this Sunday or turned in at the church office at any time. For those who prefer to sign up for a group online, here is the link.
When we get enough of the forms turned in, we will be seeking coordinators for each of the popular groups (there is also a place to sign up for that on the form). We hope to get these groups up and running as soon as possible.
These aren’t meant to be life-time commitments, but are instead a fun way to get to know people you already know a little better, maybe learn a thing or two, and just have fun together. So come on, let’s have fun together, as you like it!
