Our 60 for 60 Campaign is up and running! To celebrate LCC’s 60th anniversary and with an eye toward our future, we are hoping to raise at least $60,000 to finance new windows for the Conference Room and pastors’ offices ($42,000), new window treatments ($6,000), landscaping ($7,000) and new furniture for the Conference Room and offices ($5,000).
The windows in our conference room and pastors’ offices need to be replaced as they are showing significant deterioration from age. They are leaking and are not hurricane rated. And with the new windows will come the need for new blinds. The improved landscaping will involve beautifying the empty area in front of our office windows. As this is one of our most used entrances, it is important that we make it attractive to visitors. And the new furniture will replace very old, worn-out furniture.
Our congregation has an impressive record of stepping up to the plate when needs for capital improvements have arisen. From 2019 to the present, our generous members have given $310K in individual congregant donations, and $175K via congregational fundraisers. Additional funding for past projects has been $48K from the Operational Support Budget Expense and $34K from other sources. These funds have been used for the following projects:
- Roof replacements and painting
- Parking lot and driveway renovation
- Five air conditioner replacements
- New carpeting and interior space modifications
- Chapel bell tower restoration and storm shutters
- Coffee Patio tile replacement and exterior signage
Already most of the council members have pledged their support, but of course it will take the generosity of all our church members to make this vision possible.
Please consider helping LCC open a window to our bright future together by contributing to the 60 for 60 Fund. To do that, please contact Denice Higman to indicate your intention to give, and then you can pay via check or online with the indication that this is for the 60 for 60 Campaign. Our goal is to collect the monies by early fall.
If you have more questions, please contact Denice Higman or one of the pastors.
